RC Classic Seasoned Cream Soup Base is a dry base made with wheat flour, milk, cream and seasonings. When prepared with water, it yields a rich, flavorful cream soup or sauce base that can be customized with other ingredients. It contains no added MSG, no meat or egg products and no partially hydrogenated fats. This dry product has a long shelf life and requires only minimal storage space. Made in the USA.
To prepare, add the product to water and bring to a simmer. Vegetables, meat, poultry, seafood and other ingredients should be added at this time to flavor the soup. Season it with a base to enhance further. A double boiler is recommended to reduce the stirring required. For a richer soup, milk may be substituted for some of the water.
This product is an excellent base for a variety of creamy soups. Add chopped or pureed vegetables. Cooked chicken or turkey may be added as well. Seafood chowders may be prepared by adding chopped clams, crab, shrimp or fish, along with potatoes, corn, or wine.
