Bourbon Vanilla Walnuts

Serves: 1 pound


  • 1 lb. walnut halves
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2½ Tbsp. corn oil
  • 3 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp. Butter Rum Flavor
  • 10 drops RC Jalapeño Flavor
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • ½ tsp. Roasted Southwestern Vegetable Base


  1. 1 Blanch the walnuts in salted water for 1-2 minutes and drain well.
  2. 2 Combine all the other ingredients in a mixing bowl and blend well.
  3. 3 Add hot drained walnuts and toss until walnuts are coated with the spice mixture.
  4. 4 Pour onto a parchment paper lined sheet pan and bake in 325° oven for 15-20 minutes until walnuts are crisp.
  5. 5 Stir frequently.
  6. 6 Let candied walnuts cool completely and store in an airtight container unrefrigerated.

To "Umamify" the recipe, simply add ¼ tsp. each RC Umami Sensations® Red Miso Powder and Soy Sauce (Wheat-Free) Powder with all the other recipe ingredients and proceed with the recipe instructions. Perfect for holiday entertaining or to perk up a salad - green leafy, poultry or grain. Great addition to garnish dessert plates or cheese platters too.
