Brussels Sprouts

Serves: 8-10 portions


  • 2 lbs. Brussels sprouts
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 8 oz. pancetta or bacon
  • 4 oz. thinly sliced onion
  • 2 tsp. chopped garlic
  • to taste No Added MSG Harvest Vegetable Base


  1. 1 Clean and blanch the sprouts in plenty of boiling salted water.
  2. 2 Drain well.
  3. 3 Render the pancetta in the olive oil.
  4. 4 Add sliced onion and chopped garlic then caramelize.
  5. 5 Add sprouts and cook stirring frequently until Brussel sprouts are tender.
  6. 6 Season with RC Harvest Vegetable Base.


Value Added Suggestions:

To “Umamify” the recipe, simply add ½ tsp. RC Umami Sensations® Mirepoix Powder and ½ tsp. RC Umami Sensations® Roasted Chinese Cabbage Powder.
