Scotch Broth

Ingredients
- 2½ gallons prepared No Added MSG Lamb Base
- 3 lbs. cooked lamb, small dice
- 8 oz. barley
- 2 bay leaves
- ½ tsp. thyme
- ¾ tsp. chopped garlic
- 2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
- 2 lbs. onion, small dice
- 1 lb. carrot, small dice
- ½ stalk celery, small dice
- 3 small yellow turnips, small dice
- 2 leeks, small dice
- 1 lb. mushrooms, sliced
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- 1 Bring the No Added MSG Lamb Base to a simmer.
- 2 Add the lamb and simmer for 10 minutes.
- 3 Add the barley, herbs and garlic and cook for 30-40 minutes, or until the barley is nearly tender.
- 4 Add the remaining ingredients and simmer until vegetables and barley are tender.
- 5 Adjust the seasoning if necessary.
